Tamper evident labels: Customised and stock security labels, UK manufactured

Protectaseal manufactures tamper-evident security labels for regulated industries, brand protection applications, and supply chain authentication. Every label is manufactured in-house in Devon, United Kingdom to your exact specification.

Labels that prove integrity

A tamper-evident label does one critical thing: it makes interference visible. When a product, component, or package has been opened, moved or tampered with, the label leaves irrefutable evidence — a VOID message on the surface, a destroyed substrate, or the complete absence of the label itself.

Protectaseal labels are manufactured in-house at our secure facility in the United Kingdom. We offer the full range of tamper-evident label technologies, from standard stock VOID labels to fully bespoke specification-grade labels for pharmaceutical, aerospace, defence, supply-chains and all brand protection applications — and we hold every custom specification in strict confidence.

Our label product range

Dry peel (Residue-transfer) labels

On removal, the complete label face transfers to the substrate, leaving an unmistakable VOID or security message. Cannot be removed intact or repositioned. Suitable for most packaging surfaces.

Low residue (Non-residue) labels

Designed to leave no adhesive residue on removal while still voiding the label irreversibly. Ideal for premium packaging where substrate appearance must be preserved — for cosmetics or luxury goods.

Ultra-destruct vinyl (Eggshell) labels

Labels manufactured from an ultra-fragile vinyl substrate that fractures into fragments on removal. Permanent, unambiguous evidence of interference. For asset protection and high-security product sealing.

Variable data security labels

Labels printed with unique sequential serial numbers for product traceability, batch audit trails, and chain of custody documentation. Available with barcodes and QR codes.

Covert feature security labels

Labels incorporating invisible ultraviolet ink features — text, logos, or unique identifiers — visible only under UV illumination. A covert authentication layer for high-threat brand protection or regularoty compliance.

Specification-grade regulated labels

Labels developed to exacting client specifications for pharmaceutical, aerospace, and defence applications. Custom compound, substrate, print specification, and security features developed under NDA.

Permanent (Partial transfer) labels

On removal, a partial label face transfers to the substrate, leaving an unmistakable VOID message that cannot be remover intact, or repositioned. Ideal for use with internal security features.

Stretch labels

These labels have been developed for specific applications where a label does not have to be removed to show evidence of tampering. Ideal for permanent installations of assets.

Want to know more about our labels? We've got answers!

Four types of tamper-evident security labels showing residue transfer, non-residue, destructible and specification-grade options
What types of tamper-evident labels are available?

We manufacture five main label types: DRY PEEL (total transfer) labels that leave a full VOID message on the surface, LOW RESIDUE (no residue) labels that leave a VOID message on the surface of the label without leaving adhesive residue on the surface, PERMANENT (partial transfer) labels that leave a partial VOID message on the surface, ULTRA DESTRUCT (destructible eggshell) labels that fragment on removal, and SPECIFICATION GRADE labels developed to bespoke client requirements

What is the difference between residue and no-residue labels?

Residue labels leave a full or partial VOID message or adhesive pattern on the surface when removed — ideal for most security applications. No-residue labels void irreversibly but leave no adhesive residue on the surface, making them suitable for premium packaging where surface appearance and integrity must be preserved.

What is a destructible (eggshell) label?

A destructible label is manufactured from an ultra-fragile vinyl substrate that fractures into small fragments on any removal attempt. The label cannot be peeled off intact, providing permanent and unambiguous evidence of interference. It is commonly used for asset protection and high-security product sealing.

Can labels include barcodes and QR codes?

Yes, we offer variable data printing, including sequential serial numbers, barcodes (1D and 2D), QR codes, and unique identifiers on every label. This supports product traceability, batch audit trails, and chain of custody documentation.

What substrates can tamper-evident labels be applied to?

Our labels are available on paper, polypropylene, polyester, and engineered security substrates. Adhesive compounds can be formulated for specific surface types and environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, chemical exposure, and humidity. We can manufacture labels that will stick to just about any surface!

Do you hold custom label specifications confidentially?

Yes, every bespoke label specification is developed and manufactured exclusively for the client under NDA. Custom designs, adhesive formulations, and security features are held in strict confidence and are not made available to any other party.
